Dr. Alessia Simon is a medical Specialist in General Psychiatry and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, forming the basis of her therapeutic approach and intervention, that also includes psychodynamic, and humanistic elements. She is currently also integrating the systemic-relational framework in her work.
After finishing her medical Studies at the University of Cluj Napoca in Transilvania, and her doctoral thesis in the neurological department, she started her specialty in a public Hospital in Berlin (Vivantes) and the University Hospital Zürich (PUKZ). As a resident psychiatrist she dedicated most of her clinical years to the field of emergency Psychiatry, with a focus on adult patients, psychopathology and pharmacology. Worked in the DBT Center for Borderline Patients and gained experience in the Dialectic Behavioural Therapy. Towards the end of her residency, she opted to work as a psychiatrist in Berlin at a private practice (Familienpraxis Freiheit 12), specialized predominantly in Systemic Psychotherapy, Creative Therapies (Arts/ Music/ Creative Writing) and Group Therapies, focusing on Children, Adolescents and Families. She attended a course in clinical Hypnotherapy at the Milton Erickson Institue in Berlin and practiced Mindfulness.
During her last year of residency she worked as a neurologist in a private consultory (Neurologie am Tempelhofer Hafen) in Berlin.
In 2020 she moved to Barcelona, her main interest and focus being Integrative Psychiatry, taking into account the biological, psychological, social, spiritual and cultural aspects of the human being.
